Dan and Jakeiha Gable's 1976 FJ40 was originally purchased for the hard top and doors. The transfer case was broken. The plan was to rob the needed parts, repair the transfer case and sell it. While removing the case, they noticed the frame was seriously bent. A trip to the frame shop wasn't good news, they recommended replacing the frame. That's when the plan changed, and they decided to build it to keep. The frame off restoration started in December of 1996, and was completed in April of 1998. |
